Chrome dyes are employed for production of very fast shades specially on wool. These dyestuffs are applied after chrome process. Dyeing commences in a weak acid bath containing 5-10% Glauber's Salt & 2.5% Acetic acid (30%). Raise the temp. to boil & dye for 30 minutes. Add 1-2% Formic acid (85%) and dye for further 20-30 minutes at boil. Cool the bath to 700C & carry out Chrome mordanting with 0.5-1.5% Potassium Bichromate. Develop at boil for 30-40 minutes.
